Friday Fill-Ins

And...here we go!

1. I know who holds tomorrow.

2. I don't know which is the longest month but I do know February has been the most slippery and whitest.

3. You can't help but to feel terrible and embarrassed when one of your trees fall into the neighbors driveway. (might I add this happened tonight and they were very generous enough to help us cut it)

4. Spring; bring it on!

5. Where have you looked for that perfect Valentine gift?

6. The Skinny Vanilla Latte, Skinny Cinnamon Dolce Latte, and the Tazo Vanilla Rooibos Full Leaf Tea is now available at Starbucks.

7. And as for the weekend, tonight I'm looking forward to snuggling with my sweetie and doing some reading, tomorrow my plans include a lil' shopping if the weather is good and Sunday, I want to worship my amazing Lord and Savior.

The 5 O'Clock Club/ The FAM Club

Girltalk, an awesome and encouraging blog, has announced a new feature I thought some of you might would be interested in where they have launched two clubs you can join or participate in.

The 5 O'clock Club is for those who want to rise early (it doesn’t have to be 5 O’clock, that’s just the name of the club) to meet with God.

The FAM Club (Fast A Meal) is for those who want to fast one meal a week to pray for a family member’s salvation.

"You will have the chance to put your name on the rolls, to share testimonies, and to read about God’s grace through these spiritual disciplines. These clubs will provide encouragement and accountability to keep sitting at Jesus’ feet."

I'm sure most of you would agree all of us need reminding and refreshing. So for the next few days they're going to post information, encouragement, and the stories of two women who experienced the grace of God to rise early and to pray eagerly for unsaved family members.

"Together, let’s rise early to sit at Jesus’ feet and listen eagerly to his teaching. And let’s bring unsaved family members before His throne of grace."

Starbucks Bottled Frappuccino Drinks

I totally adore Valentine's Day and I love to give little gifts and goodies. My husband will tell you I spend way to much but I can't seem to help it. I'm a giver it's just a special quality I have, hee hee. Anyways, for V-Day at work were bringing in yummy goodies and I wanted to make something for the girls I work with so I was looking for some crafty ideas because I love to be creative in which I came across Katie's Nesting Spot with this incredibly cute idea to transform Starbuck bottles into Valentine treats! Ha! How awesome is that! I love it! I figured I would feel each bottle with their favorite candy. .. And what's even better is I get to drink some delicious starbuck fraps. Not to mention Ryan is a coffee drinker too, but even though Im spending money on others, he benefits from it too! Ha. ..all is well :)

Have a Great Wednesday!

Mantle Decorating

I find it very hard to decorate one of the biggest focal points in a room--the fireplace. I don't know if you may have or had the same problem but I'm having a hard time finding things I like to put on it. ..and it might be that I'm a lil' picky when it comes to decorating. Ok, I'm a lot picky! I just like things to be balanced. I did find a couple of ideas. I'm really liking the tall glass vases and the large candles you see on the table in the picture to the left. The colors in the picture to the right are really cute. The green fan you see is the color of our walls in the living room. I really like the pink next to it. It tends to bring the color out. I've got some ideas of what I would like to do so hopefully this weekend I will get to do some shopping and see what I can find. I'll be sure to keep you posted on my findings :)

I came across this website where I found a trick to decorating your mantle which you may find helpful:

One trick decorators use on fireplace mantels is "Three Plus One." Here's how it works:

For the "Three" part of the "Three Plus One" scheme, select three related, similar objects and place them on one side of your fireplace mantel. The three objects should not be of identical height, but, then again, they shouldn't vary too much in size.

You might choose three objects to decorate your fireplace mantel that reflect your interests or things you collect. Keep in mind the colors and style of the room the fireplace mantel is in.

For a living room, perhaps three candles or three framed pictures or three decorative plates would be just the thing. In a beach home, it might be three good-sized, lovely seashells or three pieces of coral or three model sailboats. For a den you might try three different beer steins or three pottery pots or three antique clocks. A dining room mantel might contain three decorative teapots or three glass sculptures or three different lanterns.

When you group your three selected object on one side of the fireplace mantel, don't line them up like soldiers. Think in terms of layering. Experiment with bringing one forward, one visually overlapping another, or tucking one a bit behind another.

Instead of having the three objects face straight into the room, experiment with having them face a bit toward the center of the fireplace mantle.

Don't cram the three objects all the way to the left or right end of the fireplace mantel. Leave a bit of space after the last object so the end of the fireplace mantel serves as an edging for your grouping.

For the "One" part of the "Three Plus One" trick, select a large object and place it on the other end of your fireplace mantel. As a rule of thumb, this singular object should be either about twice as tall as the threesome of objects or have the "visual mass" of the three objects. If you go with a tall object, it should not be as tall as the top of your mirror or painting. Again, don't push the object all the way to the very end of the mantel.

The one large object may have something in common with the three objects on the other end of the fireplace mantel. Maybe it echoes a color or a texture or a shape or a theme found in one or more of the objects at the other end of the mantel.

Happy Monday!

Let It Snow. Let It Snow. Let It Snow.

. ..and it has done just that. It's so beautiful! Although having church services cancelled is really going to get my days mixed up. Ryan and I did have a little church service this morning hehe. We watched a preacher out of Alabama who had a great message out of Hosea.

Having all this snow has motivated me to get some things done around the house I haven't had time to really get to and other things I just wasn't ready to get to. One being our Christmas decorations. Haha, I know it's the day before February and yes we just took down our Christmas tree! It was just so cute and pretty I just couldn't bear to take it down. Then having all this snow made me want to keep it up a lil' longer hehe. I collect snow villages and had a couple in the living room and a couple in the dining room. Of course ya know snow villages do have snow on them soooooo technically since we had a big snow I could have kept them out a lil' longer but I don't think my husband would like that. I have to admit he's been a sweetie for letting me keep them out this long :) Another task I attempted to conquer was the upstair rooms. Since we've gotten married we've just kinda shoved everything in the rooms which has caused a clutter and it drives me crazy to look at it so I've done some organizing. It's been a very busy but productive weekend. Now it's off to do a lil' house cleaning :)

Friday Fill-Ins

1. Saying a prayer for the person who pulled out in front of me causing me to slam on brakes and then who decides to go 40 in a 55 was my last random act of kindness.

2. Another place is sometimes good for the soul.

3. I consult God through His Word in matters of the heart.

4. Coffee, tea or the 8oz coca-colas that come in glass bottles. (Aahh, they are so refreshing)

5. Others may decide to take separate paths but we must fervently pray that God will deal with their hearts and convict them of their wrongdoings.

6. Our relationship & the love we share reminds me that there is a great God we serve who has blessed me beyond despair with you and your love and that I have so much to be thankful for and who I'll continue to praise and give Him all the honor and glory each and everyday.

7. And as for the weekend, tonight I'm looking forward to spending it with my sweetie and my new i-pod touch, hee hee (It's so cool!), tomorrow my plans include enjoying the beautiful warm weather we are to have and Sunday, I want to worship my amazing Lord and perhaps get a nap in!
